It has been said that the game originated in Germany in the 14th century, and then was rediscovered in the hills of Kentucky over 100 years ago. The truth is, who really knows, but the game is great fun for all ages and can be played anywhere! It is similar to horseshoes except you use wooden boxes called bean bag platforms which have a hole cut in them and they set at an angle. The bags are usually filled with corn. Contestants take turns pitching their bags at the hole in the platform until a contestant reaches the score of 21 points. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. We want you to always feel welcome to participate in all of our events at Turtle Lake Resort. Look for the Event board located at the Turtle Lake Resort's outdoor pool for the sign up sheets. To ensure you have a wonderful time playing, our events will be blind draw tournaments. Come play and have fun!

Children are not permitted in the Clubhouse main room after 8:30 PM on dance nights. Children (17 or under) are allowed in the Clubhouse Pool area until 11PM if accompanied by a responsible adult.

Turtle Lakers love Halloween, and decorating sites is one of the ways to prepare for the night. Its fun to see just how original and creative everyone can get. There will be several decorating categories in which prizes will be awarded. Judging will take place twice during the day, once in the late afternoon, and again after dark for those sites which may be lit up. Winners will be announced later at the dance. So join the fun. Decorate your site for the little trick or treaters, and for the big "kids" among us.

The Halloween Party is by far the most popular, entertaining, and sensational Party at Turtle Lake Resort. The costumes are wild, and everyone has a great, great time dressing up, dancing and socializing with friends. As always, there will be a costume contest, with prizes awarded in several categories. Hosting the evenings festivities will be a Turtle Lake Resort DJ Ken
Our Costume Contest this year will feature cash prizes to the winners. $100 for 1st, $50 for second and $25 for 3rd so bring your best and most creative costumes to the Turtle Lake Resort Halloween Party.
Admission will be $35/person. Reservations are required and will be available starting Sunday, September 4 at 9:00 AM. Limit - 4 tickets per person - first come - first served.

Children will not be allowed in the Clubhouse after 9:00 PM.
